Donald Trump just took out House Republican Nancy Mace’s legs, in a reminder of how much midterm damage he wants to do

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When House Republican Nancy Mace first came into office a year ago, she initially tried to position herself as a relative moderate. But then she saw how that wasn’t going to fly in today’s Republican Party. So she quickly began pushing the same lies that nearly all other House Republicans push, and she began kissing Donald Trump’s butt.

Yet today Donald Trump has endorsed Nancy Mace’s far right Republican primary challenger. When are these idiots going to learn that for Trump, loyalty is a one way street? Mace went hard in Trump’s direction, and it’s gotten her nowhere. Her political career could very well end in November.

Also, while Mace’s district does lean Republican, her seat was previously occupied by a Democrat. If Trump’s far right candidate takes out Mace in the Republican primary, the Democrats may be able to pick up that seat.

It’s a reminder that by endorsing non-viable Republican candidates who are personally loyal to him, Trump is actually helping the Democrats in the midterms. He knows this; he just doesn’t care. He’s that desperate to remain relevant in the Republican Party.

This is why Trump’s ongoing downfall is so dangerous for the republicans. Trump is so desperate to retain influence over the GOP, he doesn’t care if he harms the party in the process of trying to control it. Trump would much rather the GOP be in the minority but remain under his influence, than gain a majority by moving on from him.

Of course those of you reading this right now will still have to put in the work in order to help the democrats actually win the midterms. No one ever wins without putting in the work on things like voter registration and voter outreach. But damn if Trump isn’t making it easier for us.
