Donald Trump just surrendered in the Michael Cohen case

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump just dropped his lawsuit against Michael Cohen. Cohen announced the news on Twitter this evening. Trump was about to have to give a deposition in the case, and was apparently that afraid of testifying.

It also appears that Trump got caught in the act of telling the courts that he couldn’t testify in the Cohen case this week because he needed to testify in the New York civil fraud case, only to bail on the latter without testifying. We’ll see if the courts end up sanctioning Trump for having lied to them about it.

In any case, this is the latest instance of Donald Trump surrendering across the board. He basically forfeited the civil fraud case by bailing without testifying. And now he’s formally forfeiting the Cohen case by withdrawing it. Trump knows he can’t win any of these cascading legal battles and he’s just giving up.
