Donald Trump just opened his mouth and handed us a huge gift

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Here at Palmer Report we don’t generally cover the “press releases” that Donald Trump releases these days because they’re usually just glorified tweets that he’s hoping the media will regurgitate on his behalf – and he was banned from Twitter for good reason. But today Trump released a statement which should get a lot of media coverage, and if it does, it’ll be a huge gift for us.

Trump just announced that “If we don’t solve the Presidential Election Fraud of 2020 (which we have thoroughly and conclusively documented), Republicans will not be voting in ’22 or ’24. It is the single most important thing for Republicans to do.”

So what’s Trump really trying to do here? He’s essentially trying to blackmail Republican office holders into continuing to push the false narrative that he secretly won the 2020 election, by threatening to tell his supporters not to vote at all in upcoming elections. But here’s the thing. With a statement like this, he’s already telling his supporters that there’s no point in voting in upcoming elections, because it’s already (supposedly) rigged against their side.

“We’re going to lose no matter what” is the single most self-sabotaging narrative that you can ever put out there, because people aren’t going to bother to donate, volunteer, help drive the vote, or even bother to vote themselves, if they think it won’t count anyway.

Donald Trump is telling Republican voters to stay home in 2022 and 2024. This hands us a huge advantage. All we have to do is keep reminding people on our side that we can win if we put in the work and get out the vote. Thanks, Trump, for your idiotic press release today. Let’s all be sure to tell our right wing friends and relatives that their hero Trump doesn’t want them to do any voting going forward.
