Donald Trump just made a mess of things in the Dr. Oz race
Donald Trump just made a mess of the Republicans’ chances in the Senate race in Pennsylvania, by endorsing crackpot clown candidate Mehmet Oz over the presumably more electable Republican candidate McCormick. Trump is going to keep making messes like this for the GOP as we get closer to the midterms.
Due to his television career, Oz enters the Pennsylvania race with the higher name recognition than McCormick. But as this campaign goes on and Oz says more idiotic things, flip flops on more issues, and his numerous scandals become more prominent, he’ll become very vulnerable. And Trump just kneecapped the other Republican candidate who had fewer vulnerabilities.
Trump doesn’t care which Republican midterm candidates are viable. He just supports the ones that kiss his backside, even if they’d be likely to lose in the general election. Trump cares more about controlling the GOP, than about whether the GOP wins or loses. This is good news for us.
We have to put in the work to win, of course. Advantages are only advantages if you take advantage of them. But Trump’s continued meddling in the Republican primary races gives us a huge midterm opportunity that we must exploit.
