Donald Trump just lost in New York – and AG Letitia James is moving in on him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

As expected, the New York Supreme Court has announced today that it will not intervene, and Donald Trump and his kids will be forced to testify to New York Attorney General Letitia James about Trump Organization fraud.

Trump dragged out his losing case for as long as possible, but there are a finite number of legal tactics available to those who are stalling, and Trump has finally used them all up.

This leaves Trump with just a few options. He can go ahead and testify about the Trump Organization’s decades of systemic financial fraud, thereby incriminating his company and incriminating himself, and James will use it as a basis for ruling against the Trump Organization. Or Trump can still refuse to testify, and be held in contempt of court, meaning a judge will force him to testify anyway. Or Trump can try lying during his testimony, which would put him in prison for perjury.

Finally, Trump can plead the Fifth during the key parts of his testimony. But James could then use Trump’s failure to defend the Trump Organization’s actions as a basis for ruling against it. James has been playing the long game here and it’s taken awhile, but she appears to have boxed Trump in such that he has no way out.

It’s also being separately reported that James has opened an investigation into the $250 million that Donald Trump raised in the name of mounting a legal challenge to the 2020 election. Reportedly, none of the money even went to that cause, and instead went into his pocket, which would constitute felony fraud on his part. At this point the question is whether James, in addition to taking Trump’s assets, will also criminally charge him. Trump’s bad week just keeps getting worse for him.
