Donald Trump just lost his appeal in New York court
Donald Trump appealed his contempt of court ruling, and lost his appeal already. It only took 48 hours for him to lose on appeal. So much for “running out the clock.” If he doesn’t swiftly comply, the judge will likely ramp up the contempt penalties. Tish James will soon rule against the Trump Organization with or without Trump’s cooperation.
When? That’s up to her. But her team just told the judge that the probe is nearly complete. Trump was always going to be the final witness. James isn’t going to just sit there forever while Trump stalls. She’ll use his non-cooperation as a basis for ruling against the Trump Organization.
The daily contempt fines will be the least of Trump’s problems. Tish James can seize his assets, shut down the Trump Organization, and even bring criminal charges against Trump if she seems them appropriate.
