Donald Trump just gave something away with his latest appeal in Judge Chutkan criminal trial

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump’s federal criminal trial in Washington DC is still an active ongoing thing, with pretrial activities continuing to move forward even as Trump masquerades as a candidate for office. Judge Tanya Chutkan recently released a redacted version of Jack Smith’s revised criminal complaint against Trump. Now Chutkan has agreed to release the appendix to that filing as well. Why is this important? Because Trump’s lawyers are desperately trying to stop the release of the appendix, in a way that they didn’t try to stop the release of the main document.

This strongly suggests that Trump’s lawyers know or fear that there is something truly ugly in that appendix. It contains the underlying source material that Jack Smith used for assembling his revised criminal case against Trump. That could involve all kinds of things, and Trump is certainly worried about at least some of it.

Judge Chutkan did provide a ten day window for Trump to appeal the release of the appendix. But this probably isn’t the kind of thing that he can run to the Supreme Court about. He’ll instead be stuck filing a regular appeal, which he could lose quickly. So as soon as a week from now we could find out what Trump and his legal team have been working so hard to hide from us.
