Donald Trump just gave away how scared he is of what comes next

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Earlier this week the January 6th Committee began pursuing all communications that Donald Trump had with government officials, political advisers, associates, and family members regarding the Capitol attack he incited. Because the committee is seeking these documents from government record keepers, and not from any of the targets, there’s a good chance it’ll be able to acquire them.

Trump himself seems to agree with this assessment, if the statement he issued last night is any indication. He lashed out at the committee, calling them “leftists” (we suspect the likes of Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger would disagree). Trump also insisted that he’ll somehow use executive privilege to keep these communications from coming out. But if he had any confidence that he could pull that off, he’d be doing it, instead of running his mouth about it. This statement makes clear how scared Trump is of what comes next.

Notably, the mainstream media seems to finally be coming around to the reality that Trump is indeed panicked, scared, and flailing. The Daily Beast went with the headline “Trump flips out,” while the Independent declared that Trump is “afraid.”

Trump spent four years flailing around cluelessly, always merely treading water, with no plan or strategy for salvaging his too-low approval rating and no idea how to get himself re-elected, before predictably losing. Much of the mainstream media spent those four years incorrectly insisting that Trump had a secret evil genius plan and that he had us right where he wanted us. Of course this was never the case. It’s good to see the media belatedly begin acknowledging that Trump has no idea what he’s even trying to do, and that he’s simply drowning as the walls close in on him.
