Donald Trump just caved (again)

It is a wonderful dream to contemplate world peace, an eternal end to global poverty and hunger, and health care as a human right. For us Democrats, it is our Raison d e’tre , our core reason for existing in the world of politics. We want the world to be as perfect as humanly possible.

But we also recognize that while it would be nice for all to exist in a perfect world, dance like stars in our own music boxes, where song, beauty, and celebration were all that one could see, that is NOT the world we currently live in. There are no perfect worlds here, but there are perfect failures.

Donald Trump’s tariffs threatened the livelihoods of many. But we see the signs, do we not? We see the signs that Trump has already failed. Trump has failed in his quest to make new dents in America’s beauty. He’s failed as he has failed in EVERYTHING.

Allow me to show you what a miserable failure our “President” is. Trump has now exempted smartphones, computers, and other tech items from his list of reciprocal tariffs. This occurred on Friday evening when new guidance rules were issued. Other items on this tariff exclusion list include solar cells, flash drives, and memory cards.

The reason the failure gave for all of this was to ensure companies had the time to move their production to the United States. Right. OK — let’s break down Trump’s failure together. Trump started out wanting to diminish other countries and punish them.

He has already put a pause on tariffs for OTHER countries, excluding China. Now he’s rejected outright tariffs on certain tech goods and electronics. You know why, don’t you? Because he HAD to! Because he was getting PUSHBACK from everyone with two brain cells who knew and know of the damage these tariffs could do, and have done!

In other words — Trump blinked. Hard. And then he blinked some. more, Some “genius,” as he often dubs himself. Some “leader!” Ha! How long do you give it till yet more instructions come out for even more tariffs wiped away? Oh, and another thing—these companies are not coming back here next week or next month to do their projects in America.

It takes YEARS to build production sites and hire people. I mean- you can’t just- nobody wakes up and says: Yeah! I’m moving production to America! We start next week! This is not how businesses run! Does he think us all that foolish? Yes. Perfection doesn’t exist. It is unattainable. Yet beauty exists. Great ideas exist. And resistance will ALWAYS exist, burning far more brightly than even one of “dear leader’s” brain cells.
