Donald Trump just can’t let it go

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

After Thursday night’s hearing made clear that Donald Trump is washed up and has no real 2024 prospects, the media began reporting Friday on Trump’s supposed 2024 cabinet picks. You see how the game works, right? Trump (or whoever’s running things on his behalf at this point) is putting this stuff out there to keep his 2024 fantasy alive, and the media regurgitates it for ratings.

The (entire) media has already decided that it’s going to spend 2022 and 2023 milking the “Trump 2024” narrative for ratings, and it’s not going to let any real world developments get in the way of that narrative. The worse it gets for Trump, the more they’ll hype his future.

And if you think Trump being indicted will finally put the “Trump 2024” media narrative out of its misery, get ready to hear the media play up the idea that Trump will somehow magically become President while he’s on criminal trial. At some point Trump will ignominiously fade from the 2024 conversation. But until then, the media is going to keep helping Trump to hype the narrative that Trump has already somehow magically won the 2024 election.
