Donald Trump is unwittingly helping the DOJ finish him off

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

For months, people have been complaining that Merrick Garland was not doing his job. Now that the explosive news of Donald Trump hoarding top secret documents at his residence has hit the airwaves, some people want to stop Garland from doing his job. Now, everyone wants the affidavit that served as the basis for the warrant released. Why? What does that have to do with anything other than preventing the Justice Department from doing its job? This department works in secret for a reason. Had they not done everything secretively, Trump would have had ample opportunity to destroy what he was holding, and we know from history that he destroys official records. He would certainly do that to keep the FBI from finding those documents in his home.

There is (or are) obviously someone who tipped off the DOJ about the documents. Likely that person’s (or persons’s) identity is contained in that affidavit. We can easily guess why Donald Trump wants to know, but what’s up with the media? They should know how this works. They may want it for news purposes, but do they have any clue how this can compromise the DOJ’s investigation? Don’t they want Trump to pay for his crimes? Trump clearly knew that removing those documents was illegal, but he did it anyway. The Independent reported that he was warned about removing those documents, and New York Times reported that Trump “flat out refused” to return the documents.

NYT reported that former deputy White House counsel Patrick Philbin broached the subject with Trump, as did other senior members of the White House staff. Trump responded in his usual childlike manner with: “It’s not theirs, it’s mine.” What’s wrong with this man? Now that these reports have surfaced, Trump is even more likely to be charged with knowingly and willfully removing classified documents from the White House. Instead of owning up to what he has done and trying to make things right, he childishly accused President Barack Obama of doing the same thing (he did not) and publicly claimed that the FBI had likely “planted” documents in the boxes to make him look guilty. Trump needs no help looking guilty because he is guilty. On top of everything else, Trump’s foolishness has created a danger to the men and women of the FBI, who want nothing more than to do their job protecting citizens of this country. This is ridiculous.

Trump is used to getting his way. He was a spoiled rich child who grew into a spoiled, evil rich man. He could care less who he steps on or hurts if he gets what he wants. Well, we all want what we want for a change, and that is to see Donald Trump receive some type of punishment for the damage he has done to our country and for his continued existence in politics. He needs to be forever banished from politics, and if that means he goes to jail, then so be it. We would be happy to throw a going away party for him.
