Donald Trump is the Darkness

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

I suppose I’m beyond being shocked or surprised, but I am not yet beyond being incensed. When Trump visibly changed his tone concerning coronavirus and started paying token lip service to wearing a mask after learning that COVID-19 is now affecting “our people,” as an aid referred to fellow Republicans — that alone ought to get Trump impeached. But it’s just another day in Trumpland, isn’t it?

Who knows, maybe today a young soldier stationed in Afghanistan will be murdered and his dog tags will be traded for cash by a Taliban mercenary, because Trump can’t be bothered to so much as ask Vladimir Putin to stop it. Or perhaps a teacher marching as a Black Lives Matter protester will be murdered by untagged anonymous federal troops protecting buildings — as if people armed only with fingernails and placards could pull them down — just because they don’t like her, and they know their “president” won’t do a goddamned thing about it. Or maybe an attendee at Trump’s recent rally will infect a Korean War veteran with coronavirus and he will die gasping for breath in a Tulsa hospital. Who cares? Somebody fetch the president’s golf clubs.

I don’t merely want justice any more, I want vengeance. I want it for the people this monster has murdered, disenfranchised, bullied and endangered with his vicious, lying tweets and hateful, unconstitutional policies. I want the long, national nightmare to end in a bang, not a whimper. I want it to end with lots and lots of people going to prison for a very long time. I want you to want it too. I want you to want it so bad that nothing will stop you from voting this bastard out of office and straight into a prison cell. America has been raped, and her rapist is still living in her sacred mansion, eating her food and sleeping in her bed.

I have never hated anyone as much as I hate Donald John Trump. He is the most sickeningly evil human being to ever despoil the sacred office of the president of the United States. Calling Trump one of the worst presidents is like calling Adolf Hitler one of the worst dictators. It is an outrage against the otherwise usefulness of comparisons. Trump isn’t just a bad president, he is a thing of evil, he is a pestilence, a scabrous, ugly disfigurement, he is a black hole of iniquity, he is the Darkness reaching out for the Darkness.

If Trump ignominiously slouches from office at noon on January 20, 2021, there will be a shout of liberty, a primal scream of blessed freedom in the throats of all right thinking people everywhere, a desperate cry of emancipation that will circle the earth like a holy fire. America is enshrouded in evil. Donald Trump has single handedly given birth to Satan from out of the pages of mythology and into the real world.

What bothers me most of all is I know it’s going to get worse before it gets better. Even if Trump does nothing at all we are heading for a day in August when coronavirus deaths will equal one 9/11 death toll every single day. Then two. Then three. It will happen if for no other reason than because Dr. Fauci got better ratings than Trump did. Many more people will die for the sake of Trump’s ego.

But I know Trump will do even more evil than that, because that is all he ever does — evil. For one thing, he will punish America should America vote him out of office. Should he be defeated in November, Trump will look for people to blame for America’s daring not to love him, and he will punish those Americans in ways equal to the depths of his own depraved and malignant narcissism.

Meanwhile Trump’s own absurd optimism concerning the polls is sustained by the jackbooted thugs and sycophantish lickspittles he surrounds himself with. It is a White House of self-deception as much as deception. Should all of his delusions come crashing down around him in November he will spend the subsequent 78 days trying to hurt the people he blames. That will include everyone who doesn’t love him, and that hatred will be aimed at the world. We can only thank our luck that he is enfeebled by age and self-inflicted poor health. A younger, focused, vigorous man could do a lot of harm.

For now he will do everything in his power to subvert the election. Russia is already amplifying Trump’s lies that the election will be corrupted by absentee voting, when in fact it is already being corrupted by Putin, his troll farms, his hacking and his disinformation. So vote. Let’s get this monster out. And, as ever, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, comrades and friends, stay safe.
