Donald Trump is rapidly running out of time
One of the most frequent questions I’m seeing these days is whether Donald Trump will try to replace JD Vance on the ticket. Vance has done even more poorly on the campaign trail than we were expecting. And with Trump’s poll numbers continuing to drop, he could be looking to shake things up.
I don’t pretend to know enough about what’s going on in Trump’s failing mind to be able to predict whether or not he’ll make such a move. But I will say this. If Trump is going to do it, he’s rapidly running out of time. The longer he waits, the more legal and procedural troubles he’d face trying to pull it off. Early voting in the first states starts in under a month. Tick tock.
Even if Trump wants to make such a move, his people would probably tell him it’s realistically too late already. Nor is there any indication that Trump is “with it” enough to understand there’s a problem with Vance. Nor is there anyone Trump could pick who could help him. At this late date it would just make Trump look desperate and silly. If it happens, it happens. But it’s not something for us to worry about. Our job is to go volunteer and get more votes for Kamala Harris.
