Donald Trump is pissed off about how today went for him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. Earlier this evening I characterized the day’s political news as a mixed bag. On the one hand Donald Trump was given ten days to come up with a reduced bond – something he may or may not be able to pull off – even as the verdict against him remained at its original amount. On the other hand, Trump’s first criminal trial saw its start date locked in for April 15th.

On the whole, the news wasn’t as good as we might have been hoping for. But it certainly wasn’t a good news day for Trump. Any day in which you find out that you’re three weeks away from going on criminal trial, is not a good day for you. Sure enough, CNN now says that according to its sources, Trump is “very unhappy” with how today went for him on the whole.

That alone should be a good guidepost for evaluating how we should feel about today. After a long string of legal losses, Trump finally scores one incremental partial legal victory today, which may or may not even end up helping him – and it ends up being on the same day that he’s getting the worst legal news possible.

Remember, Donald Trump is in such a deep legal hole, it’s not enough for him to have mixed days and occasional partial victories. Trump would need win after win after win after win in order to have any chance of surviving all of this. That’s why he’s not happy: today he got his best individual piece of legal news in awhile, and it was still a bad day for him on the whole.
