Donald Trump is out of gas
The Chief Operating Officer of insurrections had another melt-down on Truth Social. This one was a reaction to the Justice Department ‘s announcement that it would not support him in E Jean Carroll’s litigation anymore. Reacting as only a traitor would, Trump said this: “WITCH HUNT.”
Sigh. I do wish Trump could come up with SOMETHING a bit more original. Alas, that was not to be. Trump predictably tore into the Department of Justice with all the same old tired rhetoric. And this shows Trump’s twisted logic. I want to talk about something that few pundits mention. That is the Trump paradox.
So Trump is angry that the DOJ will not represent him anymore. OK. But this is the same exact DOJ that Trump alleges, is the “deep state.” They are crooked. They are out to get him — according to Trump. So then why would Trump even WANT the DOJ to represent him? After all — they’re the most crooked of the crooked, right? They DESPISE him. They FRAMED him — according to trump.
And now Trump wants these same people, these enemies of his, these deepstaters – to defend him in court? Something’s hinky about ALL of this. There has been a longstanding debate as to whether trump really believes his own garbage or not. I believe he does not.
I think he just says whatever verbal vomit that comes out of his mouth. He does not in fact believe, in my opinion, anything he says about the DOJ as being evil. I reject the notion that Trump is insane, that he’s descended into true madness, that he really is this paranoid.
It’s an image he’s carefully cultivated but he knows what he did and he knows the DOJ stands for the letter of the law. He just can’t admit it. So as trump keeps wailing about the unfairness of it all, on social media, it appears now that he will need even more lawyers. And I’d hope any potential attorney of Trump’s asks for payment BEFORE they start.
