Donald Trump is now in a complete fantasyland as he tries to comfort himself on his way to prison

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. Donald Trump now claims that 260,000,000 people have watched his debate night interview. If that number sounds unrealistically high, that’s because it is. There aren’t even quite that many adults in the United States. Over the past few days Trump has made one social media post after another, claiming ever more ludicrously impressive viewership numbers for his interview. In his delusional fantasy, hordes of people are still going back and watching it!

It doesn’t matter that these numbers are so obviously phony as to be laugh out loud humiliating. Just like it doesn’t matter that Trump utterly humiliated himself by claiming he only weighs 215 pounds. Just like it doesn’t matter that Trump now claims he won a golf tournament this weekend with a score of 67 – a number that even Tiger Woods would only shoot on a good day.

None of this matters, because Donald Trump does not exist in the real world anymore. Trump is now in a complete fantasyland, comforting himself with increasingly cartoonish delusions, as his life in the real world is being shattered to pieces by the criminal justice system.

Trump is now at a point where he’s claiming he’s a better golfer than Tiger Woods, more physically fit than a professional quarterback, and attracting more viewers than there are people in the country. And yet in reality this is a man who sounds half senile, looks half dead, hasn’t had an ounce of political power in years, and keeps getting arrested in a way that makes clear he’s going to spend the rest of his life in prison.

I’ve said for awhile that the surest sign of Donald Trump’s demise would be when he reached the point where he was content to do nothing but bathe himself in delusional fantasies. That’s the point at which someone has given up on life entirely, doesn’t see any chance of turning things around, and settles for comforting fantasies on his way down. Trump is now pretty obviously at that point.
