Donald Trump is in denial

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The November 2023 elections were the latest reminder that mainstream Americans are no longer buying what the Republicans are selling, now that “Republican” pretty much equals “Donald Trump.”

If you’re Trump, the very last thing you want people talking about is the November 2023 elections. In fact Trump is lucky that, in its haste to pretend that Joe Biden is in trouble, the media has largely downplayed just how devastating the 2023 elections were for Trump and the Republicans.

But Trump (or whoever is running his Truth Social account at this point) is now making a point of bragging about how the Republicans did in Louisiana in the 2023 elections. This is like losing a football game by 40 points and then bragging about that one good play your team made. All you’re doing is reminding everyone of your loss.

Trump seems to be in denial about just how poorly the 2023 elections went for him and his party. Or maybe his handlers are trying to keep his senile mind in the game by convincing him that the 2023 elections somehow went well for him. Either way, Trump is in denial. As always, he’s more interested in pretending he won than in figuring out how to win.
