Donald Trump apparently liked the label they tried to attach to Kamala Harris so much that he has appointed a “border czar.” Tom Homan, who was Trump’s former director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, is now Trump’s border czar. According to Newsweek, Homan will oversee the mass deportations. While Trump is pleased to have Homan, neither one of them has any idea how much this is going to cost, both in funds and the economic cost. Experts have already opined that it will cost up to $88 billion per year, and it will inevitably hurt the economy. Undocumented workers do many of the jobs Americans think they’re too good to do, and Trump will likely have first-hand knowledge when he has no one to clean his golden latrines. This is only the beginning of Trump’s policy initiatives, most of which sounded like bad ideas. According to Trump, “There is no price tag” on his idea. Yeah, it’s not coming from his pocket but ours.

It is also rumored that Stephen Miller would be chosen as Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy. We already know all about Miller and what he’s about. Sunday, Trump announced Elise Stefanik will be his UN Ambassador. Then, there’s all the names reported on the list for Trump Attorney General, including Aileen Cannon and Kash Patel. On Trump’s Treasury Secretary list is Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Howard Lutnick, Robert Lighthizer (former Trump U.S. Trade rep), and two billionaires: Scott Bessent and John Paulson. Marco Rubio has been mentioned as Secretary of State, as are Ric Grenell, and Bill Haggerty. It has been confirmed that Trump’s team has contacted Mike Rogers about the Defense Secretary position, as well as Mike Waltz. According to Forbes, both Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo have been nixed. Haley deserves to be ignored. She sold her soul to Trump, and look at her now—on the outside looking in. She wrote on X that she was “proud to work with Trump” and wished those who will serve “great success in moving us forward to a stronger, safer America over the next four years.” Political commentator Bryan Tyler Cohen responded: “Jesus Christ @NikkyHaley have an ounce of dignity, please.” It’s far too late for that. Trump is clear about who he wants in his administration, and the Independent reported on who now has his ear.

Trump’s new right-wing earpiece is the America First Policy Institute. It’s just as bad as the Heritage Foundation, and its plans are just as extreme, including requiring ultrasounds for women wanting abortion and making it easier to fire civil servants. This group was founded by two former Trump administration officials, and it is frankly shocking how many women are involved as board members. More shocking is how many Blacks are part of the group, including Alveda King. Martin Luther King Jr. is probably turning over in his grave to see his niece involved in this. There is so much more to this group that we need to learn. They may get their very own piece soon.
