Donald Trump is delusional

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

On Tuesday, we had another round of primaries, one of which was held in New Jersey, the state Donald Trump is somehow convinced he has a shot at flipping, despite losing it by 16 points in 2020. Although there weren’t really any serious contests on the Democratic side (Rep. Andy Kim was the runaway nominee for the state’s U.S. Senate race), Democratic turnout far exceeded the Republican turnout. This shows a fair amount of voter motivation by itself, but there was something else in one of the night’s few surprises.

When Donald Trump decided to throw a fairly expensive rally in not one of the swing states he needs to flip for re-election, but instead in Wildwood (one of the more Republican areas of the state), he did it largely to endorse Christine Serrano Glassner for U.S. Senate. Glassner went on to lose the primary to Curtis Bashaw, endorsed by the state’s former governor Chris Christie (who now touts himself as an anti-Trump conservative.) It was also pretty decisive for Bashaw, who won by seven points in a multiple candidate race and still has yet to endorse Donald Trump for president.

With another round of policies we see that Donald Trump’s word is largely worthless, with even a good number of his base running to a candidate that he never really supported to begin with. Even though the presumptive nominee should be cleaning up right now, there’s hardly been a primary since the beginning where the former guy shows a glaring degree of weakness. Let’s make sure we finish him off on Nov 5.
