Donald Trump is already laying the groundwork for losing in 2024
Donald Trump is on his way to trial, conviction, and prison. If the Republicans want to nominate such damaged goods for President in the process, then so be it. The notion that Trump could be viable in the general election, while in prison and such, is laugh out loud silly.
To that end, Trump now appears to already be laying the groundwork for when he does lose, by floating excuses well in advance. After ranting and whining about the various criminal cases against him, Trump then declared that “THIS IS ALREADY ON ITS WAY TO BEING ANOTHER RIGGED ELECTION!”
We all know what that means. “Rigged election” is code for “I’m going to lose but I don’t want to have to admit it.” The only real question here is whether Trump himself is the one making this declaration, or if this post was written by his handlers. Given how senile and pliable Trump is these days, it’s possible that this is Trump’s handlers’ way of letting him down easy.
In any case, it’s notable that Trump’s same social media post refers to the various criminal cases against him as “lawsuits.” Trump also made this same mistake a few days ago. It’s as if his handlers have convinced him that his upcoming criminal trials are indeed mere “lawsuits” so he’ll be less stressed out about the outcome. But if Trump is at a point where his handlers can make him think that his criminal trials are mere civil cases just by telling him as much, then he truly is deep into senility.
