Donald Trump hits the panic button, gives something away about Jeffrey Epstein files

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Jeffrey Epstein is long dead, and Ghislaine Maxwell still isn’t talking. But there are secret Epstein files, and there has been debate as to whether the government should release those files. What’s in them? No one really knows, but the presumption is that they contain evidence about Epstein and whoever else was participating in Epstein’s heinous crimes.

Trump was just asked during an interview about whether he would declassify the Epstein files if he gets back into power. This seems like an obvious answer: “Of course I would declassify them, because I have nothing to hide.” Or there’s this non-answer: “I’d have to consult with the Department of Justice about the legal ramifications of doing so.” Anything like that would work.

But Trump’s brain doesn’t work that way, or at all, so instead he gave a panicked answer about how he’d hesitate to declassify the Epstein files because “there’s a lot of phony stuff in there.” No really, he said this. In other words he seems to be confirming that there’s ugly stuff in the Epstein files about him and/or his allies, and he’s preemptively insisting that it’s phony. Wow. Trump really doesn’t have any idea how to give an answer anymore, does he?
