Donald Trump has unhinged meltdown after he comes out the big loser in the shutdown battle

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

There were a number of clear winners (Democrats, Hakeem Jeffries, America) and a number of clear losers (Kevin McCarthy, Matt Gaetz) in Saturday’s budget fireworks. but the biggest loser of all was Donald Trump. After all, he bet big on the delusional idea that a shutdown could save him from going to prison (even though the budget doesn’t work that way). But for all his public and private demands that a shutdown happen, no one listened to him.

Curiously, in the roughly twenty-four hours since House Republicans caved and sold Donald Trump out, Trump hasn’t said a peep about it. Instead he’s spent all day Sunday having one berserk meltdown after another about… golf. Yes, golf.

Here’s just a short passage from Trump’s hours-long golf meltdown today: “Has anybody, especially the 28,000 HARD WORKING GOLF PROFESSIONALS OF AMERICA, looked at what Seth Waugh, who was essentially “fired” from his last job, and is now the head of the PGA of AMERICA, is being paid?”

That’s right, Trump has now decided that the most important thing in his life is to get the head of the PGA in trouble. Trump isn’t focused on the criminal prosecutions that are putting him in prison, or the civil fraud trial that starts tomorrow and will bankrupt him. Instead he’s trying to destroy the world of professional golf. This is unhinged, even for him. It’s also a sign that he’s clearly given up even trying to save himself, given that this is now what he’s focused on.
