Donald Trump has lost what little was left of his raggedy mind

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has lost what was left of his mind. CNN reported that Trump sent a letter dated September 17, 2021, to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, demanding that Raffensperger decertify the 2020 election in Georgia. If anyone doubts that Trump wrote this letter, all you need to do is read it. The letter begins with his penchant for misplaced capital letters: “Large scale Voter Fraud continues to be reported in Georgia.” He also capitalized “Absentee Ballot Votes Counted” and “Chain of Command.” He accuses both Raffensperger and Brian Kemp of “doing a tremendous disservice to the Great State of Georgia, and to our Nation.” Oh, boy. The man is obviously mentally unstable.

Trump’s letter claims that 43,000 ballots in DeKalb County violated his imaginary “Chain of Custody” and points out that these ballots are sufficient to declare him the true winner in Georgia, almost a year after the election. Let us say for the sake of argument that he is correct. What impact does that have on the other states he lost? None. Where did Trump get this information? From some site called “Georgia Star News,” which Washington Post said “mimics local news coverage” and is yet another right-wing conspiracy site. Of course, Trump bought it. He has no idea how crazy he looks, though CNN political analyst Job Avlon said he is setting up his insanity defense, which makes sense when you think of everything going on around him.

As Raw Story pointed out, Trump remains under investigation in Georgia for election tampering. Given that investigation, the CNN panel was shocked that Trump put this nonsense on paper. It is not bad enough that Raffensperger recorded Trump’s attempts to change the results in Georgia, but he has now put it in writing for the world—and investigators—to see. Fulton County DA Fani Willis is no fan of Trump and began an investigation some time ago. According to CNN, that investigation is “quietly moving forward” with interviews and the collection of documents. Willis told CNN: “What I can tell you is that the Trump investigation is ongoing. As a district attorney, I do not have the right to look the other way on any crime that may have happened in my jurisdiction. We have a team of lawyers that is dedicated to that.” You can bet they do, and these lawyers are looking at former “president” Donald Trump and potentially Lindsey Graham, whom CNN reported is not off the hook in Georgia for his call to Raffensperger.

Georgia is not Trump’s only worry, as recent reports from New York indicate that they have uncovered additional evidence. That evidence is likely getting investigators closer to Trump and/or his kids. Either way, this is not a good time for Trump to be trying to overturn an election that was decided almost a year ago, in writing no less. Perhaps Avlon is correct that he is going for an insanity defense, and right now, he certainly looks insane. Here is to Trump finally getting what he deserves.
