Donald Trump has lost what little was left of his grip on reality
People all over the place are whispering that Donald Trump may have lost his grip on reality. That’s because of Trump’s behavior since the 2024 election. Even by Trump’s standards, this behavior has been utterly wild, and he’s got people talking, expressing concern with the increasingly deranged element of his Truth Social posts.
“Deranged buffoon.” Trump’s inability to stop fantasizing about invading countries who are our allies, Trump’s insane postings about buying Greenland, Trump’s over-the-top behavior regarding the Panama Canal — these are just a few things that have people wondering if Trump woke up on the wrong side of sanity.
Trump also stunned many when he posted that hockey legend Wayne Gretzky should be Prime Minister of Canada. This was what caused “Republicans against Trump” to tweet pout, “I can’t believe 77 million Americans voted for this deranged buffoon.”
Trump has pivoted away from any campaign promises. He seems to be floating on some distant island that only he can access. He also sounds so unwell that many whisper that he may not make it through his four-year term. I don’t know that he will either.
Trump’s behavior has been stunning lately, as well as embarrassing. Does he know that other countries are laughing at us? Would he even care if he did? It feels like Trump is bored and restless, saying whatever comes to mind. But this man will be wholly incapable of governing, not that he did too well the first time. But all these years later, the screw has not just come loose, but has fallen OFF, and nobody can put it back into place again.
It also seems that Trump has a new fixation every day. One never knows whom Trump will decide to fixate on next. Meanwhile, the House is falling apart around him, not that he seems to notice or care.
