Donald Trump has insane meltdown about getting a trophy as his New York civil fraud trial falls apart for him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Just how poorly is the New York civil fraud trial going for Donald Trump? His former CFO Allen Weisselberg tried to remain loyal to him on the stand this week, but Weisselberg ended up incriminating himself and Trump in the process. This leaves Trump with no defense at all, which is probably why he’s now yelling around about getting a trophy. No really.

Trump falsified the value of his existing assets in order to trick banks into loaning him more money, which is a crime. But he’s now arguing on social media that he couldn’t have possibly committed fraud because one bank gave him a trophy for being such a great customer:

“This Trophy was given to me by Deutsche Bank because they were so proud of the Loan they made. They had the best Lawyers, the smartest Loan Officers, and were thrilled to do business with “TRUMP.”

This is somehow really happening. Donald Trump is now attempting to invoke the rarely used ‘but they gave me a trophy’ defense. It’s what happens when even your semi-reputable lawyers have quit, and your defense strategy consists of whining very loudly about how badly you’re losing.
