Donald Trump has completely unhinged freak out on the eve of his New York trial
Donald Trump’s four criminal trials are still a bit down the road. But New York Attorney General Letitia James’ civil trial against Donald Trump and the Trump Organization is scheduled to start next week – and suffice it to say that Trump is panicking about it.
Trump has now posted perhaps his longest-ever all caps tirade on Truth Social, going on and on (and on) in largely incoherent fashion about how the case is supposedly without merit.
At one point Trump screams that “I AM WORTH MUCH MORE THAN THE NUMBERS SHOWN ON MY FINANCIAL STATEMENTS” – seemingly an admission that he falsified his financial statements. Trump also bizarrely claims that “I DIDN’T EVEN INCLUDE MY MOST VALUABLE ASSET, MY BRAND.” At another point he simply yells “THIS IS NOT AMERICA” for some reason.
The overriding theme in all of Donald Trump’s rants these days is that he’s losing, he knows he’s losing, and he knows there’s nothing he can do about it but whine. Trump is six days away from the start of a civil trial that should dismantle him financially, before he even gets to his criminal trials.
For all the endless claims that Trump can just “delay, delay, delay” and “run out the clock,” we’re once again seeing that this is not a real thing. Trump has tried everything possible to delay this trial, but it’s simply not being delayed. It’s still set to start on the date that it was originally set to start on. Just as Trump’s E. Jean Carroll civil trial started on time. Just as his criminal trials will likely start on time. Trump doesn’t have a magic “delay” wand. He never did. And now he’s going on trial.
