Donald Trump has completely berserk meltdown about losing special election

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

If you’re a Republican candidate in a moderate swing district, the most surefire way to lose is to let Donald Trump stand next to you. Trump is toxically unpopular with everyone outside his cult base, so if you’re in a race where you also need voters from people who aren’t psychotic, you don’t want Trump anywhere near you.

To that end, Republican candidate Mazi Pilip did the thing in the New York special election that Republicans in moderate districts usually do: they keep Trump at arm’s length and take their chances. Pilip ended up losing by eight points. If she’d had Trump come out and campaign for her, she’d probably have lost by twice that much. But the ever narcissistic Trump can’t grasp that.

Trump had a rather berserk meltdown on social media on Tuesday night, referring to Pilip as a “very foolish woman” and accusing her of being a Democrat. Trump’s rant kept amping up until it became fully unintelligible, including this bizarre string of words: “I STAYED OUT OF THE RACE, “I WANT TO BE LOVED!” GIVE US A REAL CANDIDATE.”

Wait, who wants to be loved? Anyway, the Republicans are now at a point where they can’t win elections when they do embrace Trump, and they can’t win elections when they don’t embrace Trump. And they fully deserve the mess they’ve made for themselves.
