Donald Trump has bonkers midnight meltdown
Donald Trump sure does love portraying himself as a victim while functioning as the villain. Unfortunately for him, this tired act is not going to help him one bit when it comes to dealing with the criminal justice system. Trump finally seems to figuring out that he has no way out of this, and that the tactics he’s been employing for the past seventy years are now backfiring on him.
After his recent threatening social media posts, the DOJ filed for a protective order, and the judge forced Trump to file a response on Monday, it appeared to hit Trump that he’s merely cutting off his own voice. By around midnight he was so enraged that he ended up posting this: “Thug Prosecutor, Deranged Jack Smith, to file for a Court Order taking away my first amendment rights, SPEECH. So, based on yet another Radical Left Hoax, I’ll be the only “Politician” in American history not allowed to SPEAK.”
Trump is wrong about that. Prisoners have run for President before. Eugene Debs did it a century ago. “Tiger King” Joe Exotic is doing it right now. Filing to run for office doesn’t give prisoners the right to go out and campaign. And while Trump isn’t a prisoner yet, he’s awaiting trial on numerous felony charges. So no, he doesn’t get to go out and “campaign” however he likes – particularly when his version of “campaigning” consists of threatening people and trying to intimidate witnesses.
Donald Trump can rant and wave and whine and cry all he wants. It’s not going to keep the criminal justice system from taking away his privileges as needed until his trial, and taking away his freedom after he’s convicted. Eventually Trump will just be shouting these things at his prison cell wall.
