Donald Trump has bonkers meltdown as his family is forced to testify in New York civil fraud trial
Once the courts ruled that Ivanka Trump was not a defendant in the New York civil fraud trial due to the statute of limitations, it meant she was going to have to testify in the case, and that she wouldn’t be able to hide behind the Fifth Amendment. In general you can’t plead the fifth on matters for which you’re already off the legal hook.
Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump are defendants in the trial. They can plead the fifth if they want. But when defendants refuse to defend themselves in a civil trial, the court can and will use that as a basis for ruling against the defendant.
In other words, things are about to get very ugly for the Trump family. Donald Trump isn’t taking it well. He’s now ranting and raving on social media about how the “Trump Hating Judge in this case has gone off the rails.” He’s also claiming that the banks and insurance companies involved in the fraud allegations are “witnesses for ME.” Really? That’s funny, because it’s not playing out that way.
In other words, as Donald Trump realizes that he and three of his kids are about to take the stand in this trial, and that there’s really no possible way for it to go well for him, he’s sinking further into a hallucinatory alternate reality. Trump’s condition will likely only get even worse once that testimony begins later this week.
