Donald Trump has berserk meltdown after Senator confirms Donald Trump Jr is going to prison
On Monday morning, a bipartisan effort in the Senate emerged to pass a bill that would ensure Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report becomes public. There’s about a 100% chance the report will become public anyway, but legislation like this can only help to underscore the importance of what Mueller is about reveal. One of the co-sponsors of this bill is Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal.
While appearing on the Rachel Maddow show on Monday evening, Senator Blumenthal mentioned that Donald Trump Jr lied under oath to Congress during the course of the investigation, and pointed to this as an example of why the Mueller report needs to be made public. Just a few minutes later, Trump suddenly erupted on Twitter about Blumenthal.
Donald Trump posted a tweet which made all kinds of misleading accusations about Richard Blumenthal, while hitting him with the insulting nickname “Da Nang Dick.” It’s not difficult to figure out that Trump decided to attack Blumenthal, after Blumenthal revealed that Donald Trump Jr is going down for perjury. What’s remarkable here is that this series of events suggests Trump was watching Rachel Maddow tonight. Trump routinely praises Fox News and attacks CNN during prime time, suggesting he’s flipping back and forth between both, but he’s never given any prior hint that he watches Rachel on MSNBC.
In any case, Donald Trump is clearly worried about what he just learned about the fate of his son. Even though Donald Trump Jr will be facing a number of far more serious criminal charges, perjury is the one charge that’s almost impossible to beat at trial when the evidence is there. Blumenthal just confirmed that Junior is going to prison, and Trump went berserk accordingly.
