Donald Trump has been indicted by Jack Smith for January 6th

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has been criminally indicted today by Special Counsel Jack Smith’s January 6th grand jury, on four felony counts, including conspiracy to defraud the United States and obstruction of an official hearing.

We’re still waiting for more details to come in. The text of the indictment is under seal for now, but it’ll be unsealed within days or hours, and it should provide more insight into the full scope of the case against Trump (and others).

Keep in mind that today’s indictment could end up merely being an initial round of charges. In Jack Smith’s other case, we’ve already seen him indict Trump on initial charges and then circle back with a superseding indictment. So just because Trump wasn’t charged with seditious conspiracy today, for instance, that doesn’t mean it won’t happen. That said, Smith has shown that he’s not going to just throw every charge under the sun at Trump and hope it sticks. He’s going to bring the strongest charges that can get a conviction.

In any case, today is a historic day for the United States, and a celebratory one. Donald Trump has been criminally charged for attacking the United States, and he’ll stand trial for it.
