Donald Trump has a whole new Truth Social problem

Why does Truth Social exist, beyond giving Donald Trump a place to wallow in his misery and whine about how the criminal justice system is dismantling him? No one seems to know. Now two of Trump’s Truth Social co-founders are asking the same question, in a rather forceful way.

They’ve filed suit claiming that Trump screwed them out of most of their ownership stake, as Trump has turned Truth Social into pretty much solely his own pity party. The timing couldn’t be worse for Trump, for a couple reasons.

First, Trump just had his financial life ripped to pieces by the courts, thanks to a pair of devastating verdicts totaling more than half a billion dollars. Second, Truth Social is trying to push through a merger which is supposedly worth $4 billion to Trump on paper. No one believes that Truth Social is actually worth much of anything. But Trump is still trying to score a financial win, even if it’s an imaginary one that only exists on paper, to fend off the narrative that he’s broke. But now it’s all falling apart for Trump at once.
