Donald Trump has a whole new 2020 problem

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The feckless GOP Senators and Cult 45 continue to stand by their man, “President” Donald J. Trump, IMPOTUS the Third, despite the ongoing release of evidence of how U.S. military aid was criminally withheld from Ukraine. Trump has attacked anyone who suggests he earned his impeachment and must be removed.

This past week week, Christianity Today issued an opinion that Trump should be removed, not just for Ukraine, but for this other un-Christian criminality and offensiveness. Franklin “not a gram of true Christianity” Graham labeled the paper founded by his dad as a liberal rag. As Palmer Report disclosed, some of Billy Graham’s grandchildren begged to differ. Evangelicals and Franklin suggested that while perhaps Trump does not live the life that would gain him supporters, he has done much to support evangelicals (translation: judicial appointments).

Now in the latest edition of far-right conservative publication National Review, a column appears that considers the four tests for impeachment and concludes Trump meets them all. The author, Rammesh Ponnuru, concludes: “If you have read this far, you know my answer to these questions. The Constitution provides for impeachment and removal to protect us from officials, including presidents, who are unable or unwilling to distinguish between the common good that government is supposed to serve and their own narrow interests. Though he has done some good things in office, Trump is just such a president. Congress should act accordingly.”

Donald Trump, his handlers, and the GOP members of Congress will not agree, and will argue that the National Review is a liberal bastion that hates Trump, or something along those lines. Yet, there is a growing group of conservatives advocating Trump’s earned removal who will attend to and cater to the needs of this nation to address the dangers that this president poses to the nation.
