Donald Trump has a million new problems today, and Roseanne is only one of them

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Notorious Donald Trump supporter Roseanne Barr made a vile racist remark on Twitter today, and in response, ABC promptly canceled her “Roseanne” reboot. It came as a major blow to Trump, as it sent a loud and clear signal to his supporters that they can still face severe consequences for their racism. But while the Roseanne story is getting most of the headlines, it’s far from Trump’s only new problem today. In fact he’s literally facing a million problems when it comes to the Trump-Cohen scandal.

For several weeks, Donald Trump and Michael Cohen have been fighting in court to try to get evidence thrown out that was seized when the FBI raided Cohen’s office. Trump and Cohen have been gradually losing that battle, as the judge appointed a special master to sort out the evidence.

Now the special master has decided to hand over roughly a million of Cohen’s electronic records to prosecutors. While the federal investigation into Cohen is being led by the U.S. Attorney’s office in the Southern District of New York, the evidence will also be available by default to Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

So now we’re sudenly looking at a situation where SDNY has a metric ton of damning evidence against Michael Cohen, which should sharply boost the odds of Cohen reluctantly concluding that he needs to cut a plea deal. And Robert Mueller appears to be getting his hands on evidence of Cohen and Donald Trump conspiring together, as he continues to build a criminal case against Trump.
