Donald Trump goes berserk after finding out Ivanka Trump is testifying against him
If Donald Trump were willing to listen to competent legal advice, he’d have known many months ago that his daughter Ivanka Trump would have to end up testifying against him in his New York civil fraud trial. The minute the courts released her from liability due to the statute of limitations, she was going to be automatically forced to become a witness for the prosecution.
But Donald Trump seems to be just now getting around to understanding this, after the last of his nonsense filings about her testimony were rejected. Wait, did he think his nonsense filings were going to work? They never work. Nor do they ever delay anything for him.
Trump posted this to social media today: “My daughter, Ivanka, was released from this Fake Letitia James case by the Court of Appeals, but this Trump Hating, Unhinged Judge, who ruled me guilty before this Witch Hunt Trial even started, couldn’t care less about the fact that he was overturned.”
Trump truly doesn’t understand how the law works – at all. He seems to think that when Ivanka was excluded as a defendant in this case, it also excluded her as a witness. In reality it included her as a witness. When you have no remaining liability, there’s no fifth amendment for you to hide behind.
Donald Trump is also bizarrely claiming that he’s been excluded as a defendant due to the statute of limitations, and that the judge is somehow ignoring this, and that the current trial isn’t real, or something. It’s stunning the gibberish, in his declining cognitive condition, that Trump is willing to believe.
At the end of his lengthy rant, Trump yelled “CASE OVER!” Well he got that part right, just backwards. The case is over. He already lost the case by summary judgment before it even went to trial. The worse things get for Trump, the more he claims they’re getting even better for him. Trump is living a hallucination at this point.
