Donald Trump gives away that he’s hearing the whispers

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The brain is usually quite busy, particularly when one is awake. That’s because it has to process so much information. And one of the brain’s biggest responsibilities is the act of thought.

When we’re awake, we’re constantly thinking., It is the brain that allows us this inner life. Every thought we have, from what shoes to wear this morning, to what to eat at night, to what time to go to sleep, the brain is responsible for all of it.

And it makes me wonder. What is Donald Trump thinking these days? Although metaphorically Trump is brainless, we all know that the man has a physical brain. And like all of us, this brain has nerve cells that detect information about the world and transmit it to other cells.

So what information is Donald Trump’s brain taking in about his future? If anyone thought that Trump’s interview on Fox was the last time he’d do something so stupid, I think they’re wrong. Trump’s brain does not appear to transmit the kind of warnings that tell him when he’s about to do a very bad thing.

Or it does, but Donald Trump cannot pick up the frequency. It flies right over his head. But I want to know if his brain has taken in the words of the trump whisperers. The Trump whisperers are the expert opinions. All of the quality media organizations say Trump is screwed.

Now we know that Trump watches that which he claims he doesn’t. For example, I’d bet on the fact that MSNBC and Lawrence O’Donnell are frequently turned on his abode. I don’t know for certain, but he quotes some of the people there, so often that let’s assume he consumes some of it.

So it would stand to reason even if his brain cells took in only 10 percent of what the Trump whisperers had to say — that would still be enough to make him wonder, to get his brain cells chattering with each other, to make him ruminate about what it all means.

Many of us talk in our heads in a way that is called “inner speech.” I am pretty sure Donald Trump does as well. So what do the Trump whispers say? I’d venture to guess they may say some terrifying things, not that Trump would ever let us know, of course.

But the whispers often SEEM to come at night. It’s said that a big part of insomnia is caused by the brain’s inability to turn itself off, to slow down. This is the time of racing thoughts, where the inner whispers become louder.

Perhaps this is why Trump is addicted to night visits to Truth Social. Perhaps he hears the velvety whispers and doesn’t like what he hears. Maybe he is guided by his own reaction to them, which is rage. Perhaps these whispers may become even louder in the weeks ahead.
