Donald Trump gets utterly humiliated in his attempt to match Kamala Harris’ rally momentum
If you want to understand who’s leading the way in the 2024 presidential race and who’s limping along trying to keep up, all you need to know is this: after Kamala Harris held a packed rally at a large arena in Georgia, Donald Trump decided to try holding a rally at the exact same venue. That was humiliating enough for Trump. Then his rally happened.
The problem with Trump’s rally wasn’t that he spoke gibberish words, or lacked stamina, or obsessed over a fictional cannibal as if he were real, or even that he congratulated Vladimir Putin. Trump has done all of that before. The problem for Trump was that as the camera panned around the arena during his speech, it appeared to be no more than half full.
If you’re going to copycat your opponent by holding a rally in the exact same venue a few days later, you’d better be able to draw the same or larger crowd. Yet in the latest sign that Trump’s base is just plain tired, and that he’s struggling to find support outside his base, Trump just couldn’t draw a crowd.
And so in his desire to show up his opponent, Donald Trump ended up utterly humiliating himself. It’s not just a bruise to his ego. It also helped expose for all to see that his movement is out of gas – even as the Kamala Harris movement is gaining historic levels of steam.
