Donald Trump freaks out over debate
Donald Trump and his surrogates are already trying to set the bar low for his upcoming debate performance, even while seemingly laying the groundwork for him to pull out of the debate at the last minute altogether.
This reached a crescendo today when Trump posted this in all caps, after having been quiet on social media for nearly twenty-four hours: “DRUG TEST FOR CROOKED JOE BIDEN??? I WOULD, ALSO, IMMEDIATELY AGREE TO ONE!!!”
This comes after Trump claimed in a speech over the weekend that President Biden’s people were going to give him a “shot in the ass” of something before the debate in order to make him perk up.
Even for someone as weird as Trump, it’s bizarre that he’s doubling down on this so thoroughly. No persuadable voter is going to believe that President Biden is on drugs during the debate, no matter how many times Trump repeats it. So is Trump merely projecting? And will he even show up? We’ll see.
