Donald Trump finds out the hard way that the United States does not negotiate with terrorists
The January 6 hearing is complete, and as Bill Palmer laid out, it was an unforgettable hearing. And the committee did vote to subpoena Donald Trump. Trump is in a lot of trouble. At this point, it is a question of when he is indicted, not if. But that brings me to something I want to discuss having to do with Maga. And it’s essential.
Someone I know said to me, “What happens when he’s indicted?” What will Maga do? I worry about violence.” I’ve been thinking about this. And the fact of the matter is some in the cult of Maga will indeed be angry that their cult leader has been indicted. But in the grand scheme of things, that doesn’t matter.
First off, Maga’s numbers have shrunk dramatically. Think about it. In the past, a Trump’s rally could fill whole stadiums. Now he can barely fill tiny dusty gyms with a few thousand. And the few who DO have the potential for violence? If it isn’t the indictment of Trump, it would be something else.
These people are deeply unwell—they’re LOOKING for things to be angry about. The only way they would not get mad is if everybody obeyed Donald trump in everything he did and said, which isn’t going to happen. Let’s look at it another way. Trump won’t be a candidate in 2024 but suppose he was? Suppose he ran and lost.
These same people would be outraged at that. And that’s my point. These few people are American terrorists. It is unfortunate, but that is what we have in our country now. And we NEVER — Never — bow down to terrorists.
And that’s what I told my friend. I do not foresee any good end for Maga. Cults never end well. But I know this country did not bow down to ISIS or any Terrorist group. And nor will we ever bow down to a few mangy, decrepit punks who cannot accept that people might disagree with them.
America was founded on freedom. Freedom is what defines us. We must always remain free. And part of doing such is not allowing ourselves to be emotionally blackmailed. We do not bow down, and we never will.
