Donald Trump dumps Kari Lake
Not so long ago, Republican nominees who lost statewide races generally disappeared from politics, largely because their interest in politics was mostly just self-serving to begin with and donors tend to not like people who lose. That’s why we haven’t heard much from Bob Hugin, Roy Moore or Alan Keyes.
Kari Lake, however, became a household name, or at least a perennial social media trend for being a political loser, as she has yet to admit defeat in the Arizona governor’s race from 2022. Despite her refusal to concede, (while quietly admitting in court that she did actually lose), she decided to run for Kyrsten Sinema’s Senate seat – one of the most pivotal seats in a state that’s rapidly shifting to blue.
Kari Lake is probably the worst possible pick for the GOP – a proven loser whose election denialism now outshines her celebrity status as a former newscaster. To put in perspective how awful this pick was – even Donald Trump (who she’s regularly patterned herself after) wants nothing to do with her.
She somehow managed to get herself kicked out of Mar A Lago because the former guy thinks she’ll cost him Arizona. So much for helping down ballot candidates – something that the Trump family has never been about. Yet again, we’ve another instance of a Trump loyalist who did everything they were asked only to be cold shouldered in return, as the former guy has even gone so far as accusing her of spying. With Sinema no longer running for her seat, let’s do all we can to make sure Ruben Gallego prevails on Nov 5, in a race that will inevitably come down to a few points.
