Donald Trump didn’t see that one coming

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The thing about being on trial is that the judge pretty much owns your ass. Trump is finding that out the hard way as he tries to remain out on bail ahead of his four upcoming criminal trials. Now Trump is learning that even when the government brings a civil trial against you, you’re still very much at the mercy of the judge.

Turns out Trump and his attorneys were apparently blindsided when the judge forced Trump to take the stand on Wednesday and forced him to testify about remarks he’d just finished making to reporters. The kicker is that the judge concluded Trump was lying in his answers, which at least one legal expert has interpreted as Trump having just gotten nailed for perjury.

So this is where Donald Trump now finds himself. He hasn’t even gotten to his criminal trials yet, and he’s already being abruptly forced to take the stand under oath and explain his increasingly bizarre behavior outside the courtroom. This will only get uglier for Trump once he moves from the comparatively relaxed environment of a civil trial to the far more strict confines that come with criminal trials.
