Donald Trump crosses the rubicon

Dear Palmer Report readers,

We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Journalists will be prosecuted. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're looking to start funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens or how dark things get. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $2097 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer

As many of you know, I adore reading about ancient history in places such as Greece, Egypt, and Rome. I doubt anyone can argue that Gaius Julius Caesar was not a massive part of Rome’s history and Egypt’s.
He defeated his rival Pompey in a civil war and reinstated Queen Cleopatra to her rightful place as Queen of Egypt. He became the ruler of the Roman Republic until 44 B.C.E. when he was assassinated, as you know on The Ides of March.

Many tales have since been told of his bravery and fearlessness. So it is to my astonishment that I report Republican Representative of Texas, Wesley Hunt, has compared convicted felon Donald John Trump to Caesar himself.

It just never ends — the idiocy. Now, whatever you think of Gaius Julius Caesar, I think we can all agree on one thing. The man was fearless, sharp as a tack, and he suffered no fools. Donald Trump is fearful. He is as cognitively gone as can be and suffers MANY a fool, with his own disintegrating brain as the number one fool.

Hunt declared on Twitter, a place where many stupid republican tweets have gone out into the ether, “The Rubicon has been crossed.” This saying has been attributed to Caesar, who crossed the river Rubicon in January of 49 BC. Hunt then demanded everyone vote for Trump.

Donald Trump is no Caesar. This story DOES illustrate what fools Republicans are. Yes, we knew few brain cells existed among them, but this is taking things to a whole new level!

Let’s unpack this a bit. Donald Trump showing courage? Never. I submit that had Donald Trump existed during the time of Caesar and had he been part of Caesar’s army, he’d have been that one soldier.

You know the type I refer to. I speak of the ONE soldier, who would take off in a panic after of course, boring all the other soldiers by talking about himself. Caesar will always be known as fearless. Donald Trump will always be known as weak and dumb. There is no getting around that fact. No Rubicon for Donald Trump. Only prison.
