Donald Trump caught with his hand in the cookie jar again

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The proverbial $64,000 question that is begging to be answered is: “When is Donald Trump going to prison?” This question is particularly vital considering the Washington Post’s report that our taxpayer dollars continue going into Trump’s pockets. It was bad enough that Trump charged Secret Service for rooms and golf carts while he was in office but continuing to do so after leaving is despicable. Most who get free security would provide a place for that security to stay while protecting them, but not the king of the grifters. Everything is an opportunity to stuff his fat pockets, without concern for the cost to our country. When you further consider that the man pays no taxes, it is infuriating to learn how he is snatching money from the backs of hardworking Americans. I cannot speak for you, but this pisses me off to no end.

WaPo reported that Trump’s Bedminster, NJ golf club charged the Secret Service $10,200 for rooms they used in May. They were there as Trump’s detail yet Trump cannot give them a place to stay? What if they told him, “Well, we don’t have anywhere to stay, so we can’t come.” How do you think that would go over? This is utterly ridiculous. The Secret Service is not “visiting” with Trump; they are there to protect him. They are paid by our tax dollars, and the least these grifters could do is give them a place to sleep while they are doing their jobs. In total, we have paid over $50,000 for rooms for the Secret Service since Trump left office in January.

Mar-a-Lago billed the government $40,000 for rooms from January until Trump moved to Bedminster in May. Do the math: That is $10,000 per month for rooms, and now, Bedminster has already billed the government for $10,200 for one month. At this rate, taxpayers will pay Trump properties over $120,000 in a year. That is in addition to what we pay for the Secret Service detail itself. Who knows how much that costs per month? People complaining about President Biden’s legislature need to closely look at these numbers. All that money could be going into infrastructure and COVID relief instead of into Trump’s pockets. That is over $50,000 that could have been invested in the American people. Instead, it is being paid to a grifter who never belonged in office in the first place. WaPo reported that the government spent over $2.5 million at Trump properties during Trump’s “presidency,” and the spending is not over yet.

When WaPo breaks these numbers down, the government was paying from $396.15 to $650 per room at Mar-a-Lago and now pays $566.64 per night for a four-room cottage at Bedminster. Most Americans could not afford those rates if they tried, yet we are paying them for Secret Service to have a place to stay for the night to protect Donald Trump. This does not include anything that is being spent on his adult children. If this does not anger you, something is wrong. Hopefully, Trump will be indicted soon, and our bleeding can stop.
