Donald Trump can’t win for losing

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump just can’t win, which is a good thing. He and his team claimed that Judge Robert McBurney was biased, but they may have ended up with worse, at least from their perspective. The judge presiding over Trump’s criminal trial in Georgia will be Scott McAfee. Before ascending to the bench, Judge McAfee was a career prosecutor and state inspector general. Governor Brian Kemp, who appointed McAfee inspector general, had this to say about him: “His experience as a tough prosecutor equips him to search out fraud, waste, abuse, and corruption, and bring those to justice who break the law.” He’s going to sniff Trump out like a week-old salad left in the fridge.

Most of Trump’s co- defendants come as no surprise, but they are joined by a few who are not as widely known. This conspiracy runs so deep that it is almost shocking. According to Reuters, Harrison Floyd, who was leader of the group Black Voices for Trump, recruited Trevian Kutti, who ultimately met with and threatened a poll worker (and it’s on tape, people). More importantly, however, Reuters revealed back in 2021 that it was a senior Trump campaign official who set up the whole thing with Kutti. Why isn’t he or she included in the indictment? By now, of course, everyone has weighed in with his or her thoughts as to the viability of this indictment and what it means for the future.

Lindsey Graham-who is lucky he wasn’t included on the Georgia indictment-once said the same things that former Georgia Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan said about Trump. He’s now one of Trump’s biggest advocates. He is speaking out against the Georgia indictment, saying that it “sets a bad precedence” and that prosecutors are “criminalizing the law.” Let’s look at Graham’s statements. He first stated that if the state prosecution is successful, it will “unleash copycat tactics” against others. The point Graham is missing is Donald Trump is the first known criminal we have ever had in the White House and who is running to regain his position there. Trump doesn’t care about right or wrong, and he certainly doesn’t care about the United States of America. All Trump cares about is lining his pockets, and he took in a huge haul during his first “presidency.” He obviously wants a repeat.

Second, no one is “criminalizing the law,” which sounds ridiculous on its face. Criminal law is the law, and if people don’t want to be subject to it, there’s an easy way out: don’t commit crimes. See, Lindsey? That’s easy. What we all need to do-including Lindsey Graham-is admit that Trump is a lifelong criminal and grifter, and the law has finally caught up with him. Yes, it is tragic that a former president is such an embarrassment, but guess what? He brought it on himself. If he’s innocent, he should be able to prove it, and if he’s not, he has a cell waiting for him with his number on the door.
