By now we can all name the seven key swing states that the 2024 presidential election is going to primarily come down to: Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, and North Carolina. Beyond that, each side has been hoping to push certain other states into being competitive. For instance the Kamala Harris campaign is using a surrogate bus tour to try to nudge Florida toward being in play. And the Donald Trump campaign has been hoping it can put New Hampshire into play.

But now internal campaign emails reveal that the Trump campaign has all but given up on New Hampshire. That’s remarkable given that there are still more than two months to go in the election. The Trump campaign instead appears to be putting down most of its chips on winning Pennsylvania and North Carolina, which would give Trump a slight Electoral College victory even if he loses Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Georgia.

It’s not the worst strategy in the world. But it would require Trump to win Pennsylvania, where he’s currently losing, and win North Carolina, where which is roughly tied. If anything the Trump campaign appears to be admitting that its path to victory is now incredibly narrow, and in fact Trump may only have the one path to victory remaining.

In contrast, if Kamala Harris wins all the swing states that Trump seems to be giving up on, she would then only need to win Pennsylvania or North Carolina to secure an Electoral College victory. So you can see why Kamala is in such a better position than Trump is.

In any case, Trump’s increasing electoral weakness gives us an opportunity to dive in right now and run up the score. Go to go.kamalaharris.com and see what opportunities there are for you to get involved in the Kamala Harris 2024 campaign.
