Donald Trump gives away something shocking about his own government shutdown
Donald Trump decided to force a government shutdown because no one would give him the funding for his racist border wall. Since that time he’s been behaving even more erratically than usual, posting a series of tweets that are alarming even by his standards. Thanks to those tweets, we now know that Trump doesn’t even know what a government shutdown is or how it works.
Donald Trump posted this eyebrow raising tweet: “The Wall is different than the 25 Billion Dollars in Border Security. The complete Wall will be built with the Shutdown money plus funds already in hand.” Wait, what shutdown money?
Is Trump under the impression that by not issuing paychecks to certain federal employees right now, it somehow generates a profit? Has no one explained to him that employees will still get those paychecks after the government reopens? Is he really about to try to spend a surplus that doesn’t exist? It gets worse.
Just a few hours later, Donald Trump tweeted “I am all alone (poor me) in the White House waiting for the Democrats to come back and make a deal on desperately needed Border Security. At some point the Democrats not wanting to make a deal will cost our Country more money than the Border Wall we are all talking about. Crazy!” So does he think the government gains money or loses money during a shutdown? He truly doesn’t appear to know. No wonder this guy filed for bankruptcy six times.
