Donald Trump goes berserk after judge issues ruling on Trump-Russia DNC hacking
Donald Trump’s claims are often so simplistically and bizarrely removed from the truth, it’s difficult to figure out when he’s lying on purpose and when he simply doesn’t understand what he’s talking about. It was yet another one of those moments today, when Trump went berserk after a judge issued a ruling on the Trump-Russia election hacking of the Democratic National Committee.
The DNC filed a lawsuit back in April, alleging that the Donald Trump campaign conspired with the Russian hackers who stole, doctored, and leaked the DNC’s emails during the election. In an entirely separate legal maneuver, a handful of individuals filed a similar suit of their own. Today a judge dismissed the smaller case, on the premise that the individuals in question didn’t have standing. The judge also spelled out in her ruling that she was making no assessment of whether Trump and Russia colluded to steal the emails. The DNC’s own lawsuit is ongoing and was unaffected by today’s ruling. That’s all a bit complicated, but easy enough to parse if it’s important to you, right?
Unless, of course, you’re Donald Trump. Here’s the berserk response that he tweeted about the ruling: “Just won lawsuit filed by the DNC and a bunch of Democrat crazies trying to claim the Trump Campaign (and others), colluded with Russia. They haven’t figured out that this was an excuse for them losing the election!”
Wow. We’re still struggling to find one word in Trump’s tweet that’s truthful. The DNC didn’t file this lawsuit. The DNC’s lawsuit is ongoing. The judge made clear that her ruling had nothing to do with the question of Trump-Russia collusion. By the way, the DNC isn’t suing to try to win money. It’s suing in order to use its suit to force evidence to the surface so the public can see that Trump committed treason.
