Donald Trump takes his disturbing behavior to a whole new level
It’s not that Donald Trump has ever spoken or behaved in a manner that could be described as particularly rational, appropriate, coherent, dignified, or mentally stable. But over the past few days, as his government shutdown stunt has failed him, the stock market has gone off a cliff, and his top military adviser has lit him on fire, Trump is taking his disturbing behavior to a whole new level – just in time for Christmas.
Yesterday, in a particularly jarring moment captured on film, Donald Trump got on the phone and basically told a seven year old kid that Santa Claus doesn’t exist. This was just hours after he posted the disturbing tweet “I am all alone (poor me) in the White House.” This is the stuff of the 25th Amendment. It was made even more surreal when we later learned that his wife Melania was there with him in the White House at the time he declared himself to be all alone. But that’s just the start of it.
In the past few days Donald Trump has tweeted a photo of himself signing a blank piece of paper into law. He’s also posted a drawing of his border fence/wall that looked like it was created by a child. He tweeted a years-old video of himself singing while dressed up like the guy from Hee Haw.
It’s as if Donald Trump, who is a joke to begin with, has somehow managed to turn into a parody of himself. These are rather clearly his final days before he’s impeached, removed by the 25th Amendment, or forced to take a resignation plea deal to reduce his upcoming prison time. Either Trump knows this is the end for him and he’s stopped caring at all, or he’s simply snapped under the pressure. Either way, this is pretty clearly his last Christmas in the White House, and probably his last Christmas before he’s arrested.
