House Democrat: Donald Trump is going to prison
Donald Trump tipped off just how scared he was of Robert Mueller’s testimony when he threw a prolonged tantrum the night before Mueller was sworn in: “Just watched Rep. Eric Swalwell be asked endless softball questions by Martha MacCallum on Fox News about the phony Witch Hunt … Fox sure ain’t what it used to be. Too bad!”
In so doing, Trump gave away that he didn’t think the court of public opinion was going to end up on his side. If even chunks of Fox News were already aligning with Robert Mueller in the expectation that his testimony would make Trump look like a criminal, it strongly suggested that the majority of the American public would end up being the same. What Trump may not have been counting on is that Mueller took things far beyond the court of public opinion.
Mueller stated during his testimony that, based on the findings in his report, Donald Trump can be criminally indicted as soon as he’s no longer in office. After Mueller made this remark, Eric Swalwell decided to fire back at Trump’s tweet about him: “ICYMI: You’re probably going to be indicted when you leave office.”
When Donald Trump is indicted, it’ll be on a wide range of criminal charges, as we’ve already seen with other career criminals in his orbit such as Paul Manafort. Some of the charges against Trump will be more complex, such as obstruction of justice, while some of the charges will be of the slam dunk financial crime variety. Trump will be convicted on at least some of the charges, and he’ll be sentenced to prison for longer than the rest of his natural lifespan.
