Donald Trump panics and deletes a bunch of tweets

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has been having a rough stretch, to put it mildly. Not only is he being impeached and in danger of ending up in prison, he’s become so toxically unpopular that everyone he endorses these days ends up losing. Now Trump is resorting to trying to cover his tracks in a panicked frenzy.

Trump posted four different tweets yesterday in support of Louisiana’s Republican candidate for Governor, Eddie Rispone. This came after Trump spent weeks promoting Rispone and held multiple rallies for him. But after Rispone lost yesterday, Trump was apparently so humiliated at his own inability to get a Republican elected in a red state, he deleted all of his recent pro-Rispone tweets.

This comes after Trump also deleted his tweets in support of Kentucky’s Republican Governor Matt Bevin after he lost his reelected bid in a red state. Trump seems to think that if he deletes his tweets, no one will know that he failed so miserably at getting his candidates elected. Trump’s deletions are reaching an almost comical level, as he also deleted a tweet urging people to vote for Sean Spicer on Dancing With The Stars, after Spicer was eliminated.

Some observers are going to question whether Donald Trump is deleting these tweets himself to try to cover his tracks, or if his social media handlers are deleting these tweets on his behalf. Either way, it’s absurd. It’s embarrassing enough for Trump that he can’t get his shrinking base to turn out and put anyone over the top. It’s even more embarrassing for Trump that the tweets are being deleted after the losses.
